One of the biggest hurdles we face as an online glasses retailer is convincing people that buying glasses is the same as, if not better than, buying in a shop. And it’s not always an easy hurdle to leap – how could we possibly compete with an in-store shopping experience where you’re talked through your purchase by an expert and are able to try on whichever frame you want there and then?
But let’s face it – shopping in the high street isn’t always a great experience. We can’t be the only ones who think there must be better ways to shop – why put up with the limited stock levels, pushy salespeople and grubby display models of an underwhelming store when you can find your perfect frame in the comfort of your own home?
Luckily we’re not alone in thinking that way. But exactly what is it that our customers like about us?
First and foremost, it’s all about value – finding that sweet spot that hides somewhere between the areas marked “high quality” and “reasonable price”. But when you find the sweet spot, it makes customers very happy:
YES!! I can see, new glasses arrived. Ace service bought online @glasses_direct £300 cheaper then last pair i bought in store.

We understand however that some people will always want to buy their glasses directly from an optician simply because that’s what they feel safe doing. But for everyone else, we try to make the process as reassuring and as fast as possible. Low cost, low effort – zero stress.

Lower prices sometimes lead to concerns over quality, but there’s no greater feeling than buying something reasonably priced and being pleasantly surprised. In fact it’s one of the main reasons our customers come back to us year after year.
Got 2 pairs of glasses from @glasses_direct. Really impressed – much better build quality than Specsavers!

Shopping online puts the buying power back into your hands and nets you a high quality pair of glasses for a very reasonable price. Who knows – it might not be long until people start saying they “should’ve gone to Glasses Direct”!
