In recent years for some, eyelash extensions have gone from a luxury to an accessible everyday essential. But what do you do when you want to add length to your lashes and also wear glasses?

Imagine bigger looking eyes that appear more open and really pop without trying. Imagine less time spent in front of the mirror trying not to smudge your mascara, and more time sleeping in. But wait, there’s only one problem: you have a prescription.

Just because you wear glasses, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the pleasures, beauty and spare time that comes with eyelash extensions. So, if you’re curious about whether or not you should give extensions a go, but feel like your specs could be holding you back, read on.

PLEASE NOTE: Getting eyelash extensions is a personal choice and this post is not promoting them. This post is for those who wear glasses, want eyelash extensions and are looking for advice on having the two.

What you need to know

For starters, eyelash extensions are a fast and easy way to go about your beauty. Not only do they save you from the stress and hassle that comes with constantly having to apply makeup, but they will also save you time.

Three key facts to remember:

  • Trust your stylist
    • A no-brainer, but it’s important that you trust your stylist. Make sure to read reviews on the salon you are interested in having your lashes done. It’s important to know you’re getting it done at a reputable location with fully trained beauticians – after all this will involve your eyes, and sight is pretty important, right?
    • It also helps to have a trusting relationship with your stylist (even if this is your first time). Make sure you feel comfortable enough to tell them your concerns.
  • Length and size
    • You get to pick how long your lashes will be, so don’t worry about having really long ones.
  • Bring your glasses
    • Remember to bring your glasses along with you so that you can see straight away if your lashes are too long, too short etc, and have them altered accordingly.

What glasses can I wear?

You can wear any you like and that’s the beauty of it. We love statement yet practical styles like a round or cat-eye frame in warm colours like brown and tortoiseshell. Perfect for every day, they’ll really show off your new lashes.
